Job Opening: HR/Payroll Clerk - Register of Deeds Clerk

The Harper County Clerk and Register of Deeds Offices are currently accepting applications for a Full Time Office Assistant.   

 

This position will be responsible for a variety of duties in two County departments. The Clerk’s Office responsibilities would include maintaining and updating personnel records, new hire processing and onboarding, data entry for bi-weekly payroll, and employee benefit processing.  The Register of Deeds’ Office responsibilities would include assisting the public with recording of land transfers, mortgages and other documentation pertaining to real property as well as reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures before recording. 

 

This position requires exceptional customer service skills and great attention to detail.  Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite

 

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid non-restricted driver’s license.  A criminal background check is required.

 

The established hourly hiring rate for this position is $14.33 – $16.13, however, the actual rate of pay will be negotiated based on experience.
